Below on this page...is Battery Upgrades for more performance and then below that is Used Boydsters and then if and when someone steps up to the plate and reproduces tires and other parts, I will add another section

You can upgrade your "run time"
with aftermarket batteries
or replace non working original batteries for your Boydster II R/C car
Upgrading batteries can be dangerous to your car and your wall outlet if you charge the wrong battery type for this car.
So below is the correct batteries I have researched
to help you get MORE performance and better run time
If you cannot find any of these please feel free to use the contact tab at the top and I can get them for you at a 10% charge over costs.
The original batteries from the factory 1500 mAh:
The original batteries from the factory are 1500 mAh which gives and average run time from about 15 to 20 minutes. PROPERLY cycled these batteries CAN last a few years. At the time of this post, my four factory batteries are still working great by charging them for 10 hours and cycling them DOWN TO NOTHING while having the back wheels blocked up.
(make sure your transmiter is AT LEAST 6 feet away from the car while doing this) or you will burn out the control board and frequency chips ! ! !
I recently added them for customers for spare batteries in sold cars.
They were still working great after 2+years.
The Mid grade Upgrade Ni-Cad 2000 mAh
The High grade Upgrade Ni-MH 3300 mAh
3300 mAh which gives and average run time from about 35 to 45 minutes
I will be testing this estimated time and performance soon
Shown below is this battery, it has NO CHARGER included
However the chargers are easy to find as explained above on the 2000 mAh battery charger set.
CHARGER switch MUST BE changed over to Ni-MH to use on this battery

CHARGER switch MUST BE changed over to Ni-MH to use on this battery
Shown below is this battery. In the following pictures is what is included and it part numbers from your local Radio Shack and or The Source in Canada. This style of battery WILL make the car run doughnuts and spins and smoke the tires (with a little bleach water) like Boyd did on the tv show. Be careful !!! Tires are NOT reproduced nor are they available for replacement parts. If you cannot find them in your local Radio Shack or online let me know I can order it for you, there is an additional costs for this.
Here is the "Used Boydster II " Section
This is to give you some idea of what occasionally comes my way and how they turn out and what to expect on prices for D.O.A. Boydster II's and working decent shape Boydster II's
First photos are of an Used Boydster II I found online
It was considered D.O.A. and "had issues" The car was definitely used but looked good overall. Tires were near shot. paid 38.00 for it, so it was not a bad deal. I was told that it would run but headlights turned on. I figured this couldnt be that big of deal so when it arrived I charged the factory battery for 10 hours (which works great still), I tested it around the neighborhood and noticed it DID have intermittent running issues.
I removed the body, and you see what I found. Pretty simple fix. I cut the bad section of wire out, soldered the connection and replaced the insulation with 2 layers of shrink tubing. I also took a minute and added some shrink tubing to where the positive battery wire sits upagainst the battery housing to give it some added protection. After it cooled, I dropped a few drops of hotglue to give it some added stability so it wouldnt move around in the future and weaken the solder joints.
Yeap, pretty simple fix. Looked like it was that way from the factory, and the shine on the car was really nice. Since it was a pig when I got it and now took it out and tested it for 3 days. I ran 5 batteries for 3 days straight and no issues whatsever. It was missing the factory antenna for the passenger rear of the car so I went to a hobby shop and picked up some stock stainless wire that was about the same gauge as the factory one. I wrapped the wire around a nail and then cut it to length. Inside where the antenna "fits into" is a spring loaded wire bar that catches the windings of the base of the antenna. No glue needed. It has a good grip on it.
I thought about cutting the total length down to match the factory ones, but a longer antenna might give it a better range. Can't hurt right?

After the repair I hit it with some aerosol glass cleaner, then threw on some Megiuars Car Detailer wax that I got as a sample from the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show. It cleaned up pretty nicely as shown below. Thinking that a real good coat of carnuba wax might do it some good, I hit it again for some outside pics farther below.
